Molly House – Re-Packing/Boxing Guide

Molly House – the brand new game from publisher Wehrlegig (Pax Pamir 2nd Edition, John Company 2nd Edition) – has arrived! As much as I appreciate small, compact boxes, this one was a bit tricky to pack. So here is another quick packing guide. While there are some images on BGG of people squeezing both the metal and wooden pawns in the box, I’ll never play with the wooden ones. So I preferred transferring to the separate box.

Bottom Layer

The bottom layer of components looks like this for me: Dice in the middle left, cubes neatly packed in their ziplock backs in the bottom left, large card in the bottom right (with sleeves will lift a bit above the plastic but will be compress down when putting the later components on top), small cards middle-right. In the center, I place the 3x tokens on the left of the large elongated compartment and top them off with square cardboard tokens up to the lid of the plastic insert. The start player token comes next to it and then the rectangular cardboard pieces.

Next come the brown cardboard pieces. The rectangular ones fit nicely on top of the dice if one fans it out a bit, the larger corner bits on top of the white cardboard tokens. Note that these aren’t completely flat but at a slight angle. I also place three of the metal pans in between the wooden cubes. I chose to put them into ziplock bags because I’m not certain if the paint wouldn’t rub off if metal ever came on top of metal.

Next come the remains metal pawns and the small wooden bits in the bottom-left corner and the remaining cardboard pieces in the center.

Top layer

Rules and player aids on top to weight everything down slightly …

… and then the main board on top of it.

On top of that the solo rulebook and the player boards and that’s it. Close the lid and you’re done.

I’ll just keep the metal pawn box (now containing the wooden pawns) somewhere on my back shelf and forget about it. Happy gaming!
